True Love

I am off this week for Thanksgiving break so I am getting to spend a lot of time with Ellie, which is nice. As I was just putting her down for her morning nap, I was hugging her so tight (ahem, maybe tighter than I should have) and I closed my eyes and realized just how much I love this little being. It is so amazing. Before having Ellie, every other parent would tell us all kinds of different things, "It changes your life, but, for the better", "It is the coolest thing that can happen to you" , "You'll love that little person more than you could ever imagine". Well, all of those statements are true. My heart is just full of joy and love for this girl.

Just like every other month that has zoomed by, I cannot believe she is 7 months! And it's the holiday season and it's exciting to be celebrating with her for her first year. I am really looking forward to Christmas to see how she reacts with opening presents, because she is just starting to "get into everything" I know it won't even matter what Santa brings, because she is amused with just about anything. We just got done playing with an empty shoe box for about a half an hour. Who needs expensive toys?

Well this is going to be a short post but I will say that Ellie is growing! I am really stretching out the time that I keep her in the baby bath tub, and I think we are nearing the end of our time in there because nightly it is a struggle to keep her in it. She wants to crawl over the sides, eat the sides of the tub, and reach for the drain and put her fingers in the slats of the drain. She wants more freedom! And now that I give her finger foods and purees, she doesn't really like to be spoon fed, so she'll grab the spoon and try to do it herself, and it just makes a huge mess! But, I know she is just learning how to be more independent, and I am ok with that, so I just take a few deep breaths and giggle, and let her try to do it herself. She isn't really crawling per se, but she is very mobile! She'll roll, plank, sit up, army crawl, ....she'll do anything but crawl on hands and knees, but she sure does get around. She is starting to pull to standing on things, mainly when we hold her hands she'll stand, but she's tried on the couch or our bed a couple times. Milestones are nice, but I want my baby to slow down!!!! Geez she's gonna be getting her driver's liscense next week at this rate :)
