11+ months

Wow, it has been some time since my last post. Life has been so, so, busy, especially with work for both Paul and I... I feel like I get home and get to see Ellie for like 2 hours and then she is off to bed, I make dinner and we usually pass out on the couch around 9pm! Haha!

Well Ellie has certainly been into everything lately! She is officially walking. She started to really take off at 10 months, but it was more of her walking along things, and then taking 3-5 independent steps over to the other piece of furniture that she could grab onto. I'd say she has been walking without support now for about 2 weeks solid. She LOVES walking all day long. She paces the living room, from the kitchen to the dogs cage to the TV stand, to the toy box, to the sliding glass door, back to the kitchen, etc etc etc! She also loves the stairs, which is a big No-No here. We usually have the safety gate up, but on those rare occasions that we forget to put it up, she makes a B-line for it and she knows she's not supposed to be on them because she'll walk over and right before starting the crawl up them, she'll take a look back, like, "Hey is anyone gonna tell me 'No!'...?" Haha. It's the same story with the kitchen cupboards and the dishwasher too. She's always looking over her shoulder to see what she can get away with. She is definitely starting to show her personality and she knows how to get what she wants at times too.

She is being more talkative now too. Her favorite word to say is "Dog". She says it when she wakes up, before she goes to sleep, when we get home from errands, pretty much all day. She loves our dogs.... (at least someone does) and she loves stranger dogs too! When we are out and about and she sees a dog, she'll repeat "Dog, Dog, Dog" while doing the sign for it as well. However, when she says "Dog" the "g" is silent, it's more like a "Doh", it is really cute. Other words that she is saying on a regular basis are "Meyo" (Milk), "Wawawawa" (Water), "Mo" (More), "Ah-dah" (All done) and on occaion, she'll say "Dah" (Dad) and "Mum" (Mom). Things are really starting to get fun around here....

How the heck is she already gonna be ONE YEAR OLD? Where did my teeny tiny swaddled up baby go? She is so independent these days. I can't hold her really anymore, because she just squirms out of my arms and wants to do things on her own. I love when people want to hold her, I chuckle a little inside and in my mind I say "Good Luck!" haha. She is such a little pistol, and we love it!
